A single ply coated skin of 14mils thickness deadening ring around the outside. The ring reduces overtones and focuses the sound of the bass drum, really pushing the bass forward. Used in conjunction with the Blast impact patch (included with each head and also available separately), it protects the head and adds extra “click” to help the bass drum cut through the mix.
