On Sunday I had my first ever drum lesson.
Since Dave and I have known each other for over 20 years it's been rather a long time coming, but I guess there's always that thing where you think you might end up in an almighty argument. I have had a few "tries" on the teaching kit when Dave's been out but never managed to coordinate myself enough to produce a rock beat!
So....30 minutes later, what had I learned?
Single strokes, double strokes, paradiddles, a basic fill both ways around the kit and a basic rock beat, as well as how to read drum music!
And marriage still intact!
We will try to do some video footage of my next lesson...watch this space.
In the run up to Christmas, we decided to do a bit of a promo here at DD. Being a small start-up business, we can't manage gigantic give-aways, but as we say at Christmas "it's the thought that counts", and we really do appreciate you, our customers.
We managed to persuade our son to don a Santa hat and tinsel, and I snapped away for about 90 seconds with Dave trying to persuade him to look beguiling!
His payment came in the form of a new Skylander (reduced in a local toy store!), with which he is delighted.
At the time he said "you're not putting this on FaceBook, are you?", but when I showed him the final picture, he was pretty chuffed and more than happy for us to share it.
Christmas is coming and it's a time for giving, so our own Christmas Elf is offering a free pair of DrumArt Hickory 5A sticks to the first 6 peeps spending over £20 buying direct from us (not via eBay)...
If you'd like to claim your sticks, simply quote "Christmas Elf" and we'll add them to your package. One pair per customer.
Drummer, drum geek, reluctant blogger and eater of cheese!
